"I recommend removing the events calendar and replacing it with a simple list of: 1. upcoming LNC meetings, national conventions, or LPHQ events 2. upcoming state conventions 3. Plus a short statement at the top along the lines of: "We have 50 state affiliates, even more local organizations, plus candidates and student organizations who plan and host all sorts of exciting events! For events in your state or local area, please start at your state website." (and we'd link to the states). Nothing else. I'd remove things like the monthly "Boone County, Kentucky LP" meeting. If we did add every state, local, and candidate meeting, it would look busy but be a mess. If there is no objection, and I don't change my mind, this events change will go on my list of potential upcoming projects. Brett, it would probably only take Eric 15-20 minutes to do this (he's the guy who would ultimately implement this). The 2 hours is how much of my time it will take to discuss this with enough people to gain a consensus. I'll need the state chairs, the LNC (especially the chair & vice chair), and Carla Howell to agree. Of course if there are lots of suggestions and other ideas, the 2 hours could turn into many more. U.S. Senate--Joshua James Governor--Daniel Lewis U.S. House 7--Leonard Ladner U.S. House 1--Michael Salyer Tennessee House of Representatives 13--Vinnie Vineyard Tennessee House of Representatives 2--J.R. Enfield Joshua James, as part of his campaign, walked across the State in August {with some gaps} Daniel Lewis filed suit to get all our above listed candidates placed on the ballot as Libertarians. We are waiting to have an Injunction hearing which should be any day now. Georgia is running five statewide candidates...Andrew Hunt for Gov. Amanda Swafford for US senate..Ted Metz for ins. Commissioner. .Aaron Gilmer for PSC...and John Monds for PSC also...the John Monds race is a two way state wide race.. should get close to a million votes on that one....we have produced a TV ad for our governor’s race...we will be running it across the state including CNN in downtown Atlanta...we are earning a ton of press including the front page of Georgia's biggest newspaper...We are doing on average three interviews a week with major media...Our governor race is polling 6.2 %and the senate race is also polling near 7 %.... In an election for Hampton City Council in Bradford County, Crystal S. Turner, a registered Libertarian was elected. Our two statewide candidates continue to run very active campaigns. Gubernatorial candidate, Adrian Wyllie has just completed a month long tour of breweries in the state. He has chosen his running mate, Greg Roe, a small business owner. Bill Wohlsifer, our candidate for Attorney General, is pushing the issue of medical marijuana. This will be on the ballot in November as Amendment 2 to the Florida Constitution. Florida also has a wide number of downline candidates.

Need advice for getting to meeting

What's the best way of getting to the meeting early Saturday morning from Washington Dulles airport? I was originally planning to fly in to Reagan airport on Friday, September 19th. But I now have an important business meeting scheduled for that Friday afternoon, so I've had to change to a red-eye flight that leaves LAX at 11 pm and arrives at Dulles at 6:50 am. Below is a report from the ham radio club meeting that my club held last night. I did not attend in person or via the web cast because I was at an Atlas Network event. Please note that we don't even broadcast live video. We just broadcast the audio, and the PowerPoint slides. This is probably the 20th or so meeting that my club has broadcast on the Internet. And again - "Jim" is a retired audio engineer. http://audiosystemsgroup.com/publish.htm So - I hope our members are not surprised if it takes an entire LNC term to get the web broadcasts working correctly - even if they are audio-only. And if these broadcasts are dependent on a current LNC member - what happens if that person does not serve on the next LNC?
