I apologize that I missed the part about the sound in the original
message; I was out walking and responding on my phone. Have we checked
with the venue to make sure they don't require using in-house sound or
A/V generally? This is a common requirement with many hotels and
convention venues. In what I had proposed, the venue was going to
provide 2 audience microphones and one presenter microphone, with the
idea that those in support of a motion could line up behind one mic and
those opposed to a motion could line up at the other mic, providing an
easy mechanism for the presiding officer to recognize those in support
and those opposed and give equal time back and forth between.
How many people is this space able to accomodate? Our peak attendance
was 2019, I believe, in WKY. As I recall there were about 90 in
attendance that year.
What is the seating arrangement? Classroom style is generally the best,
as it provides a way for everyone to look forward and have a place in
front of them to put their things. I personally dislike like
banquet-style, as people have to either have their backs to tables with
no place to take notes or whatever, or face away from the speaker.
Do we have a lunch menu? I like the half-day unlimited drinks -- that's
a nice perk as long as they keep the coffee flowing.
I'm heading out walking for the petition drive again today. If anyone
has free time, it looks like we'll need to walk today, tomorrow, and
possibly part of Tuesday before the turn-in. It's been pretty brutal,
as polarization is pretty high. Dale's done the best so far on a
individual day, Jeremy has put in the most time, and Jeremy and Geoff
have brought in the bulk of the signatures we have so far.
