[Lpk-convention] Discussion

I'd like to go check out SureStay before we make a decision. At $200,
we can charge very little for the convention itself. I can find out if
they would be willing to prepare lunch. Breakfast is included for all
people who actually stay at the hotel, too, which is a bonus. Having
the convention in a hotel tends to have some additional side benefits:
increasing attendance, increasing on-time re-arrival after breaks,
ability to get forgotten items from a hotel room during a break, etc.
We definitely need to find out about catering options or whatever.
I've been to the Bardstown Event Center (aka Knights of Columbus center)
before. It's okay. The ceilings are somewhat low and the outside is
very unimpressive. I seem to recall that it was hard to hear people
speaking in the front, if you were seated in the back. This isn't to say
that SureStay isn't the same way, but it's what it is. And we'll need
to plan for A/V if this is the case.
I have to go out of town for work on Monday, and I'm still sick, so I
need to stay home and rest and try to get over this cold or whatever it
is I have. Otherwise I'd just run down there today and check out both
sites.
