Since it was an event that spilled into January I’ll only add that our webpage and CiviCRM were intermittently up / down from about Dec 26 - Jan 4 or 5 and we engaged our LPStates team (Ken Moellman) to investigate and restore.  

The initial analysis is that we endured a targeted threat but the source of that threat was not substantiated.  In any case, since some diversionary security measures have been taken on our DNS records and LPStates' Apache servers, we can now report that we have had reliable sustained uptime for the past 7 days with no evidence of Denial of Service (DoS) attacks or service interruptions.
