I don't think that anyone is saying that the resolution overall is a bad
idea, it just needs to be streamlined. My initial reaction to it was that I
got about a third of the way through it and then decided that I didn't have
time at that moment to devote to finishing it and would have to come back
to it. I think that will be the reaction of most people. In the technical
writing field, the standard is that everything should be geared toward an
eighth-grade reading level. That is because you do not know the educational
background of your reader. People who cannot comprehend legalese still vote
and we still want them on our side. The resolution is a good idea and I
agree with Ryan that we need more resolutions. Saying that it should be
more concise and easier to read is not a criticism of the overall
resolution.
