Tim, That policy manual change was limited to current and recent LNC members being compensated by the party. It had nothing to do with LNC members giving money to the party. --- Sam Goldstein, At Large Member Libertarian National Committee Convention Oversight Committee 317-850-0726 Cell On 2020-06-18 21:48, Tim Hagan via Lnc-business wrote:
If the sense of the LNC is that my reading is incorrect, that's fine.

Mr. Hagan is interpreting the Policy Manual as requiring a 3/4 vote of the LNC if any LNC member buys a T-shirt. I do not believe that is the correct reading.

Motion 200511-1 added to the Policy Manual that "Other Financial Transactions" with LNC members, JC members, and related parties need a 3/4 vote of the LNC. My understanding is that a financial transaction is an exchange of money for goods or services. We have financial transactions done after this motion passed that need approval. If the approval cannot wait until our July 8 meeting (I think it can wait.), then I need co-sponsors for a motion to approve for Caryn Ann Harlos to purchase a convention suite, and for Caryn Ann Harlos and Susan Hogarth to purchase items from the LPStore.
I request an agenda item for the July 8 meeting to move to add at the end of Policy Manual Section 2.01, Subsection 3:
Other Financial Transactions does not include purchases of convention packages, convention tickets, convention tables, convention suites, or LPStore merchandise as long as they are purchased at the same rate that is offered to other party members.
