Online advertising, compared to any other form of traditional advertising (billboards, yard signs, TV, radio, etc) is unquestionably cost effective - often to a few orders of magnitude. Facebook currently has the best ROI by a longshot, though Google is still good. Not sure where it sits the spectrum, but probably 2nd or 3rd (again with FB being a strong 1st). I was searching on Google for some search terms that included the word “libertarian”.
Here is the ad I saw at the bottom of the search results:
*Are You a Libertarian? <http://www.theadvocates.org/quiz/quiz.php>*
Ad*www.theadvocates.org/quiz <http://www.theadvocates.org/quiz>*
Take the World's Smallest Political Quiz and find out in minutes.
The Advocates for Self-Government <https://plus.google.com/111343603503904335780> has 107 followers on Google+
I have no clue if it is cost-effective for the Libertarian Party to be advertising on Google search results, but I figured it was interesting that The Advocates are doing so.
