I have read it multiple times and have some questions. First, I agree this
is not a Policy Manual issue so the ultimate conclusion that this is not a
PM issue I agree with. However, it seems to me that counsel greatly
over-reached beyond the PM into Bylaws and RONR implications which was not
his place IMHO, but in order to know that, I would like to know the
specific instructions that were given to counsel. I understand that is
attorney/client privilege and that can be given to me off-list.
Specifically were the instructions written? I would like to see them. If
oral, I would like permission to speak with counsel to find out the
instructions.

Dear LNC members,
Many of us are in the midst of planning our summers and I think it is time
that we take up the issue of where to have our meeting scheduled for August
19-20, 2017.
I'm in favor of moving west for this one. Let's get the ball rolling with
suggestions of locations and sites so we can narrow it down over the next
couple weeks and perhaps have a decision done by our April meeting.

Dear All,
On January 12, 2018, I received a complaint regarding Arvin Vohra from
Merissa Hamilton. After receiving the complaint, I asked the LNC's
Special Counsel to review it and investigate the allegations pursuant
to the relevant section of the policy manual, which says, "In response
to every complaint, LNC will take prompt and necessary steps to
investigate the matter and will protect the individual’s
confidentiality, as much as possible, recognizing the need to
thoroughly investigate all complaints."
Mr. Hall conducted a thorough investigation of the complaint. I have
sent the results of the investigation to Ms. Hamilton, Mr. Vohra, and
Chuck Moulton as Chairman of the Judicial Committee. If any members
of the LNC would like a copy of those results, please email me
directly and I will send you a copy.

With talk of building a wall, the increased recent visibility of sharply xenophobic and racist views in the era of Trump, etc., things may not seem rosy for libertarian views in this area. But the situation is better than it appears at first blush: According to Gallup polling, more people want to maintain levels of legal immigration than cut them, and the number who want to *increase* legal immigration has risen significantly over the past couple decades:
> "For decades, Gallup has asked Americans if they think the level of legal immigration should be 'kept at its present level, increased, or decreased.' In recent years, Americans have been closely split between holding steady (38 percent as of June 2017) and decreasing (35 percent). The remainder, around 1 in 4, want to increase legal immigration.

This makes sense – the world continues to become more interconnected, the Internet is transcending borders, and young people tend to be more immigration-friendly than older people.
People may not be embracing freedom as quickly as we would prefer, but I think the long term trends remain mostly positive and that humanity continues to gradually move in a libertarian direction. Our leadership in being out in front of that curve is vital.

With talk of building a wall, the increased recent visibility of
sharply xenophobic and racist views in the era of Trump, etc., things
may not seem rosy for libertarian views in this area. But the situation
is better than it appears at first blush: According to Gallup polling,
more people want to maintain levels of legal immigration than cut them,
and the number who want to *increase* legal immigration has risen
significantly over the past couple decades:
"For decades, Gallup has asked Americans if they think the level of
legal immigration should be 'kept at its present level, increased,
or decreased.' In recent years, Americans have been closely split
between holding steady (38 percent as of June 2017) and decreasing
(35 percent). The remainder, around 1 in 4, want to increase legal
immigration.
While the clear majority want to decrease or hold legal immigration
steady, these numbers represent a longer-term pro-immigration shift
� as of the mid-1990s, two-thirds of Americans wanted to decrease
legal immigration, and only 6 or 7 percent wanted to increase it."

This makes sense � the world continues to become more interconnected,
the Internet is transcending borders, and young people tend to be more
immigration-friendly than older people.
People may not be embracing freedom as quickly as we would prefer, but
I think the long term trends remain mostly positive and that humanity
continues to gradually move in a libertarian direction. Our leadership
in being out in front of that curve is vital.

governments to enforce federal immigration laws. The GOP continues to
push this. Something to note: our local law enforcement and the
majority of our constituents here in Sarasota support legal immigration
and do not want their city or county turned into a haven for
"undocumented" peoples, so they have chosen to enforce federal laws.
As a candidate for FL state house representative, in my opinion, it is
wise to have a working relationship with existing local elected
officials and despite what happens in different areas of the country,

I can't find anything on Alison Foxall's website about
immigration one way or the other, and want to give her the benefit of
the doubt that the paper got it wrong. I've copied the candidate, who
