There is a motion to add the following:
WHEREAS, inviting Presidential candidates from opposing parties is a
clear violation of Article 2 of the National Libertarian Bylaws. More
specifically, it goes against the following clause. "The Party is
organized to implement and give voice to the principles embodied in the
Statement of Principles by: 1. functioning as a libertarian political
entity separate and distinct from all other political parties or
movements;" having the 2024 Republican Party Presidential nominee speak
at the 2024 Libertarian National Convention not separating the
Libertarian Party from the Republican Party.
The motion is seconded. We are still in the first two days of 'open
voting' so I will ask all of you to consider this addition, and I will
reset the 'open voting' period to end at 1:30 PM on 5/9. Votes are
always amendable during open voting.
I will also simultaneously add Julie Fox as a co-sponsor per her
request.
