Fellow Libertarians - Thank you to all our donors, both new and
recurring. If you are not a recurring monthly LP Illinois donor, please
visit www.lpillinois.org and click DONATE. The 2026 elections will be
here before you know it, and the statewide petition drive must be
considered. Please dig into your couch cushions, forgo that daily
coffee, and contribute. A small recurring donation goes a long way.

If you are not a Precinct Committeeperson, please consider becoming one.
Visit https://lpillinois.org/precinct-committeemen/ to learn more. We
have several openings on the SCC that can only be filled if you are a
PC. If you live in Cook County, Township Committeeperson petitioner
circulation has begun. Reach out to me if you need help drafting a
petition.

I spent a good chunk of the previous month seeking candidates for Cook
County office and held a few meetings to encourage candidates and build
up a support base. Thanks to all the candidates seeking office in Cook
County! If you are in Cook County, please circulate a petition. 622
signatures is our minimum, and we should have no issues doubling or
tripling that amount. There are still plenty of Cook County Board of
Commissioners districts that need candidates with very manageable
signature thresholds. Consider running if you can. Reach out to me for
help with a petition.

An e-mail was sent announcing the Cook County petition drive, the picnic
(September 6), and our convention. Expect more e-mails throughout the
petition drive and lead up to the picnic.

Also expect petitioning events in and around Chicago. Perhaps even a
demonstration outside Mayor Johnson's house. If any suburban Cook folks
wish to do a petitioning event, I would be more than happy to help
spread the word.

A new member welcome meeting is planned for Sept 3. I encourage the LPIL
to host a monthly virtual hangout similar to the unofficial national
virtual hangout. Does anyone else think this is a good idea? When should
we hold them?

My all-time haul is $34,223 give or take. Several dozen letters sent for
National donors who are either not LPIL members or who haven't donated
to the LPIL. Next, I will try letters to LPIL donors who have fallen
off.

Best,
Justin Tucker
Executive Director, Libertarian Party of Illinois
