[LPIL - Board of Directors] Emergency Business: MOTION for LPIL Response for Trump Invite at DC

Dear LPIL Board Members,

With Trump being invited to speak at the national convention and various 
state affiliates giving responses. I believe LPIL must act fast to 
respond to the invitation. Which is why I want to put forth a motion.

MOTION: Response from LPIL to the LNC Regarding Trump's Invitation to 
Speak at the 2024 National Convention with the Following:

WHEREAS, The invitation of Donald Trump was a blindside to the hard 
working activists in the Libertarian Party.

WHEREAS, This is a convention in which we are nominating one of the 
Donald Trump's opponents for the 2024 Presidential Election.

WHEREAS, It is an insult to every candidate running for our party's 
nomination and every LPIL activist petitioning to get them on the ballot 
for the National Chair to invite our competition to be given a free 
platform to campaign at our own convention.

BE IT RESOLVED, The Libertarian Party of Illinois calls on the 
Libertarian National Committee to rescind the invitation of Donald Trump 
and other opposition Presidential candidates from speaking at the 2024 
Libertarian National Convention in Washington DC. We at the LPIL stand 
in solidarity with other state affiliates who have addressed their 
grievances about political opponents being platformed at our own 
convention.
