PLEASE PROOFREAD AND ADD SUGGESTIONS

Volunteers Needed!

My experience as a libertarian volunteer started with placing yard signs
on the road and collecting a handful of petition signatures from my
friends. When I started doing those things a few years ago, I had no
idea what it would lead to...

The 2024 Libertarian Party of Illinois Convention earlier this month in
Elmhurst was an awesome experience! I was disappointed to not see more
attendees, but I understand the myriad of factors that we face, as
individuals and as a group, which prevented some from attending. We did
conduct a successful business meeting which resulted in 21 of our 33
delegate slots being filled, but we do still have some slots remaining.
If you are interested in being an Illinois Delegate to the Libertarian
National Convention please contact Secretary Ken Mattes at
secretary at lpillinois.org to discuss the requirements.

We also have vacancies on our Board of Directors, as well as the State
Central Committee. Elections for many of these roles will occur on April
17. This procedure and date are dictated by state law; as some of our
Counties are now established we are following the guidelines of Illinois
Election Code, and we are still hopeful to become a statewide
established party later this year! This means that only Precinct
Committeepersons can cast a vote in the April 17 elections. If you are
not currently a precinct committeeman and would like to be, please see
your County Chair or your current SCC representative about becoming one
for your precinct, or if you are in a county or district without either
please contact Secretary Ken Mattes (secretary at lpillinois.org).

The author Elizabeth Andrew once said 'Volunteers do not necessarily
have the time; they just have the heart'. If you have the heart to
collect a few signatures and send us a notarized sheet we would
appreciate it. If you have the heart to buy and plant some yard signs
that would also be great! But, if you really want to do more, as I did,
we do have a place for you. I promise you that it will be valuable to us
both.
