Well, I have decided this needs a bit of context on my vote; allow me to
be petty and put it in resolution terms.
WHEREAS: it is the purpose of libertarian philosophy to recognize the
rights of the individual; and by relevant extension the accomplishments
of the individual;
WHEREAS: aside from mere organization and outreach, it is the purpose of
political committees and bodies such as the Board of Directors of the
Libertarian Party of Illinois to pass meaningful resolutions furthering
the broader philosophy of libertarianism, as well as resolutions
recognizing the accomplishments of individuals who greatly contribute to
the movement;
WHEREAS: it is pedantic and unbecoming to lament the mere presence of
any resolution which does not advance subjective single-issue social or
economic messaging as has been done in the past;
BE IT RESOLVED: I vote unequivocally Aye for this motion Dan Lewis has
presented to recognize the accomplishments of Chair Redpath.
Mr. Secretary, will you have a spreadsheet available which lists out the
vote totals?
