A Motion Against the Kennedy Victory Fund


WHEREAS, the purpose of the Libertarian Party of Illinois (ARTICLE I. 
STATEMENT OF ORGANIZATION)
"B. The mission of the Party shall be to elect Libertarians to office 
and move public policy in
a Libertarian direction."

WHEREAS, the delegates present at the Libertarian National Convention on 
26 May 2024 elected Chase Oliver and Mike ter Maat as the Libertarian 
nominees for President and Vice President respectively

WHEREAS, in contravention of the delegates and members of the National 
Libertarian Party, the National Libertarian Party Executive Committee 
voted on 11 July 2024 to enter into an agreement with a rival candidate 
for the purposes of fundraising (now known as the Kennedy Victory Fund)

WHEREAS, in the state of Illinois, Robert F Kennedy Jr is already a 
chosen opposition candidate as an Independent.

WHEREAS, WHEREAS, the agreement itself can be reasonably perceived as 
violating multiple National Libertarian Party bylaws, including but not 
limited to:
a. Article 2, Sections 1, 2, 4, 5
b. Article 5, Section 4
c. Article 14, Sections 1, 4

WHEREAS, the Libertarian Party of Illinois opposes any action that is 
in contradiction to the National Libertarian Party bylaws and to the 
rightfully elected Libertarian Party nominees for President and Vice 
President, Chase Oliver and Mike ter Maat.

WHEREAS, the Campaign for Chase Oliver and Mike ter Maat have publicly 
stated that they do not support the Kennedy Victory Fund, and consider 
it support of an opponent in an ongoing race.

IT IS THEREFORE RESOLVED that the Libertarian Party of Illinois calls on 
the Libertarian National Committee to void any and all fundraising 
agreements or otherwise with any presidential candidate other than the 
Libertarian Party nominee selected by delegates at the 2024 Libertarian 
National Convention.

IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the Libertarian Party of Illinois calls for 
the censure of the following National Libertarian Party Executive 
Committee members for knowingly and willfully violating the will of the 
delegates of the 2024 Libertarian National Convention:
a. Angela McArdle
b. Pat Ford
c. Andrew Watkins
d. Kathy Yeniscavich
