(Heads up that I'm working on this for the newsletter and the email
list; please let me know what you think)

September 2023 is a milestone for me. It marks one year of service as
your Secretary of the Libertarian Party of Illinois, a crucial role in
our organization.

The job of Political Party Secretary is best summarized in one word:
documents. Both as a noun and as a verb. I manage the documents of our
awesome organization, truly the only political party in Illinois that is
actually interested in contributing to society and being excellent at
performing our civic duties, the most important of which being a check
on the relentless growth of government.

I'm proud of the achievements of the past year; most of all (of course)
our new document management system. Thank you to Bob Blair-Smith and
Kelly Liebmann for your help with this. It makes it possible for us to
recover and rebuild from Hurricane Covid in an efficient manner.

This mega-disaster tried to destroy our party. It tried, and it did a
LOT of damage, but it did not win. We are still here.

As a matter of fact, we are getting stronger every day, thanks to
dedicated volunteers like Chapter Development Director Paul DiMasi who
is helping me to inventory the county chapters. The state party needs to
know the status of the local chapters (good, bad and/or ugly) so that we
can keep track of credentials, and so that we know where to direct any
assistance that we can muster. This is my top priority as we approach
the 2024 State and National Conventions.

There are plenty of other Thank Yous that I owe but this is not an Oscar
speech.
