All,
Due to a previously planned event as a member of the media, I will not
be able to attend the meeting Tuesday night.
Attached -- both in Word and PDF format -- is my Political Division
report for the month.
Some things of importance:
* There are two names that still need removal from the Elected
Officials page: Jasen Howard and John Prentice.
* Jim Humay contacted me recently about filling the vacancy for Deputy
Director. Most of you know I struggled with filling the division in
my last tenure as Political Director, so this was appreciated. As
the position has voting rights, as set in the updated Political
Division manual submitted during the Suess administration, it would
require approval by the Board. However, considering that it was too
late to make it a motion this month, I will present a motion next
month for Jim Humay to fill the vacancy for Deputy Director of the
Political Division.
* Please contact me if there are any additional candidates that I need
to include other than what I have listed in the report for this
consolidated cycle. This would likely include write-in candidates
that either failed to or was unable to submit their intent paperwork
to run as a write-in candidate.
* As always, reach out to the members of your local chapters --
especially in our eight established counties -- about potential
candidacies in 2024. The more candidates we have at the local level
to support whoever the 2024 presidential nominee may be, the better.
Cook County will be a serious battleground, especially with the
Congressional and General Assembly districts that are exclusively
within the county. There's maybe one or two districts in the
Illinois House that may also be the case in Peoria County.
Petitioning for the primaries will be coming quicker than you think!
