The judge was hesitant to go the whole way and overstep the clerk's capacity
to review the petition documents.  As this was a preemptive strike, he felt
that she would violate our civil rights but, by magic or other such
nonsense, not do so at the last second.  Thus, the signature requirement
stuck.  Could have also been ex-parte whining from high ranking D officials.

It sounds like Jason and Jim have the numbers they need but countywide may
need help.  Remember, you can gather until the 14th.
