As we celebrate this holiday season and mark the end of another year, we are filled with gratitude for your ongoing participation, support, and partnership. Thanks to your generosity, together we have made a significant impact in the lives of those we serve, including students, families, entrepreneurs in the making, public servants, educators, business and non-profit leaders, and the broader community. The Hammond Institute for Free Enterprise provided seminars, workshops, presentations, student engagement activities, courses, media interviews, conference presentations, research, and more. 2024 Hammond Institute Highlights: Directly engaged 1,800+ people of all ages. Offered 45+ events and activities. Hosted two thought leaders as part of the H. F. Langenberg Memorial Speaker Series. Reached 100+ students and professionals through two Business Ethics Panels. Trained ~140 Lindenwood students and staff through the annual Get Money Smart @ Lindenwood financial education series. Engaged 470+ high school students through the Mad City Money Financial Reality Simulation. Took 2nd place in the 2024 national Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) League Competition for college students. Partnered with 35+ organizations to deliver programming. Received funding from the Kauffman Foundation, Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, and St. Louis Community Credit Union for regional entrepreneurial research and financial education. As we reflect on the Institute's impact, we honor the special contributions of John W. Hammond, who recently passed away. John served Lindenwood University as a former member of the Lindenwood University Board of Directors and the namesake of the Hammond Institute for Free Enterprise. John joined the Lindenwood Board in 1991 and served for more than three decades. In 2013, he made a generous gift to Lindenwood to establish the Institute that bears his name. Over the past decade, he actively helped shape its vision and reach through his tireless support. His legacy will live on as the Institute evolves and thrives into the future.
