Discussion topic if anyone wants to discuss for tomorrow night. Jared Young, Independent candidate, actually called me at the home number (it is on the internet so not shocking). Very good guy. Enjoyed the visit. He was asking how we could put WC Young on our ballot. I explained how he slipped in. We were not excited but living with it and if we ignore him he will go away in 100 days and we will fix that issue in 2026. He asked if we could sue to get him off our ballot. Jared is running a very active campaign and I think would have offered to donate to the cost of the lawsuit. He shelled out money for ballot access signatures and has run a good paid social media campaign. He is very concerned that since they have the same last name people could make a mistake at the poll. I told him the Republican had sued a bunch of people to get them off the ballot and had been highly unsuccessful. We never counted on the senate candidate to get our 2%. And the guy supposedly has no money. He is living in a assisted living not for profit charity facility. Us suing him would gather more attention than just letting WC run. Jared did offer that he was libertarian minded and open to work with us in any way needed. Told him I had been watching his campaigning and was super impressed so far and he could run for us in two years. I personally wish he were out senate candidate. He had stopped by WC's address without success but had got him to email him back some campaign materials and I asked to see them so I could share them which is the purpose of this long email. Also including a link about Republicans suing candidates. I think we are wasting our time but if the party would want to sue and attempt it I could ask Jared if he wanted to chip in. We would have until August 15th so if we were to attempt it would have to hurry. PS: Unlike every other candidate from every party that has ever made contact, he did not at any point ask us to endorse him. Not sure how well the image will do in this email. I had to extract it from their email. Looks like they filled every statewide spot except AG. We are total opposites of the political spectrum so I don't necessarily think they are a threat except we might lose some of our "anyone but the Republicans and Democrats" vote. But wouldn't hurt to work extra hard on supporting our AG candidate.

Exec & State Committees, Our spot at the State Fair has been paid for as well as the tent and insurance. Tom Rowlette has kindly stepped up to assist with setup and teardown of our booth. Our focus will be on our Candidates, recognizing active affiliates and encouraging the development of new affiliates. I intend to update the pamphlet that I created last year (see attached). One way that you can assist, is to provide me with the title and author of any book(s) that you would recommend that you've recently read. As you can see, some of the material is dated and will need to be replaced. Any suggestions would be welcomed. Most importantly...we need people to volunteer to staff our booth.
