Hey folks,
2021 is a redistricting year following the 2020 decennial census. Two months ago voters repealed Clean Missouri via Amendment 3, which restores the bipartisan redistricting commissions that were briefly superseded by a Nonpartisan State Demographer established by voters in 2018.
Amendment 3 authorizes Missouri's Democratic and Republican parties to nominate the commissioners tasked with redrawing our state legislative boundaries. US Constitution enthusiasts will note that assigning this official duty exclusively to two political parties, violates the Fourteenth Amendment's Privileges or Immunities Clause by disenfranchising Libertarians and all other Missouri citizens who are non-duopolists.
In vigorous defense of the US Constitution, we are seeking Libertarian nominees to Missouri's state Senate and state House redistricting commissions. We need 21 nominees to each commission for a total of 42 Libertarians.
Requirements:
- For each commission, we need two nominees per congressional district, plus five at-large nominees.
- For each commission, no more than one nominee from any one state legislative district.
- One cannot be nominated to both commissions.
Will you help the Libertarian Party of Missouri break the duopoly's stranglehold on gerrymandering? We have many slots to fill, so we need all hands on deck to seize this extraordinary once-in-a-decade opportunity.
