Libertarian Action - Letter to the Editor

TO: Kentucky Libertarians One of the most effective and least expensive ways to reach the voting public is by getting newspapers to publish Letters to the Editor. Newspapers prefer to print letters from their subscribers or people who live within their distribution area. I have taken the liberty of writing a sample letter. Please improve it, sign it and send it to your local newspaper. Please share it with anyone who asks you "What can I do?" This letter is not campaign specific. It deals with a Kentucky tax fairness issue; political parties using tax dollars to fund party activities. It is a rationale for voting Libertarian. I will send a copy to The Kentucky Gazette. Thank you, Lex Lex Hannan Communications Director Libertarian Party of Kentucky 859-594-9688 Attachment: Letter to the editor template #1 ======================================================== KY Democrats and Republicans take tax dollars for party activities On May 19, 2020 the state of Kentucky will conduct primary elections to select the candidates of the Democrat and Republican parties. The taxpayers of Kentucky will pay for these primaries including voting equipment, polling places and people to staff the polls. It has been decided by the Democrats and Republicans of the General Assembly that all taxpayers will pay to select the nominees of only two political parties. Even taxpayers who do not support either of these parties will be burdened with the expense of more than $1,000,000.00 per primary election. Selecting Democrat and Republican nominees should only be the business of those parties and should not be funded by Kentucky taxpayers, especially taxpayers who are independent or members of third parties. The Libertarian Party of Kentucky (LPKY) thinks it is unfair for taxpayers to be saddled with the cost of selecting nominees of any political party. The LPKY will conduct its own primary elections throughout the state at its own expense. Libertarians won't accept tax dollars to pay for their primaries. Libertarians think taxpayers should not be paying for Democrats or Republicans, either. I encourage my fellow Kentuckians to vote Libertarian in November to stop politicians in Frankfort from using tax dollars for political party activities. (Signed)….. I will be on the road at this time and on this date, but still plan to be on the call. Would someone please step up to take meeting minutes b/c this will be a crazy week for me. Attached are meeting minutes for your review. ____________________________________________ Finally got a tally on Campaign Bootcamp. $1,320.33 was spent $2,235.00 was raised + $550 in in-kind donations Not counting fees, $915 was raised. Addresses for Affiliates

I need the addresses for the affiliate parties to finish the KREF report. It's due Friday, so I'd like to get that by Thursday.
