Pursuant to LPIL Bylaws Article II Section K, notice is hereby issued (or re-issued) of vacancies in the State Central Committee in the following districts: CD-2 CD-3 CD-5 CD-8 CD-10 CD-11 CD-12 CD-13 CD-14 CD-16 The SCC will meet on February 25 at 7 PM in order to elect successors to fill these unexpired terms until the SCC elections on April 15. This meeting will be online at https://meetings.dialpad.com/room/chairlpil Anyone interested in filling these terms should plan to attend this meeting and should seek nomination and a second from a current SCC member during the meeting. The LPIL State Central Committee will assemble on January 15 at 8:30 PM, or the conclusion of the Board of Directors meeting if sooner. The purpose of this meeting will be to elect a new State Chair to fill the unexpired term arising from the vacancy of Mr. Redpath. Co-Sponsors: Walden IV, Leonard, DiMasi. ================================================================== MOTION: The LPIL shall respond to the LNC's invitation to former President Trump to speak at the 2024 National Convention with the following Resolution: WHEREAS, Extending an invitation to former President Trump to speak at the 2024 National Convention was a consternation to the hard-working activists in the Libertarian Party. WHEREAS, The 2024 National Convention is intended to nominate and promote the Libertarian Presidential candidate, rather than provide a platform for an opposing candidate or party to campaign. WHEREAS, Hosting this speech would be disrespectful to the Libertarian Presidential candidates in addition to many LPIL activists who are contributing countless hours petitioning for ballot access on behalf of the Party's future nominee. BE IT RESOLVED, The Libertarian Party of Illinois calls on the Libertarian National Committee to rescind its invitation to former President Trump along with all other invitations to opposing Presidential candidates to speak at the 2024 Libertarian National Convention. The Libertarian Party of Illinois firmly stands with other state affiliates that have voiced their grievances regarding political opponents being given a platform at our own convention. LPIL SCC Meeting and Delegate Briefing 5/13 7:30 PM

Our state Chair Bill Redpath has decided to call an emergency meeting of the State Central Committee for Monday 5/13 at 7:30 PM. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss Illinois' place in the regional structure of the Libertarian National Committee. We are facing at least two choices which will be discussed. As this matter relates to the Illinois Delegation (delegates typically vote on regional representation at the national convention), I am also extending this invitation to those members of the delegation who are not on the SCC.
