It is my fiancés birthday and we have dinner reservations for this evening. Therefore I will be unavailable for the meeting tonight. I look forward to reading the minutes. On a side note, a recent poll done by the Bailey campaign has Scott Schulter polling at 8%, which is quite encouraging. https://www.fox32chicago.com/news/new-poll-shows-pritzker-bailey-in-tight-ra... Good evening Libertarians,
Adding to the agenda, I move to direct Field Operations to work with Communications, IT Division, and the Executive Committee to assemble and conduct a membership survey by the end of 2022. The survey should gather member feedback about the following topics: - Preferred communication channels - Local chapter needs - Candidate support and outreach - LPIL messaging - National LP messaging - Strategic priorities for 2023 through 2024 - Whether or not the LP of Illinois should disaffiliate from the Libertarian National Committee
Rationale: I've seen enough from our unprofessional, immature, and incompetent LNC. I would argue that our state is the most professionally led and well-managed in the country. While I would love to go straight to a motion to disaffiliate from the national party, I would want to do our due diligence as a body to hear from our membership before acting as a State Central Committee. Regardless of the results of the question about disaffiliation, I believe conducting this survey would be a valuable exercise to gather helpful feedback about how the party can make improvements and add value to our members, candidates, donors, and local chapters with or without our already limited engagement with national.

I'm just catching up on email, looking for agenda items that Matt didn't get. I guess I'm resigned now, but disaffiliate? Really? I just can't understand. I guess if you don't like the LNC and want to disaffiliate you should probably motion to pay back the money we received for ballot access--how can you take money from people you consider, "...unprofessional, immature, and incompetent.". That's great character; bash the people that supported us, then try to sabotage the whole state party and quit them. That'll accomplish liberty in our lifetime. Great idea! Apologies. Stressed out and working on budgets for work and then saw just such utter stupidity I couldn't help but to respond. Carry on. On 2022-09-20 19:05, Bennett Morris wrote:

All, Please see attached my resignation as Secretary. I apologize; with my recent promotion; increased travel away from home; and frankly trying to balance all of that with an 8 and 5 year old, I am just losing track of things and failing. Matt just reminded me of the meeting tonight. You guys deserve better. I'll stay as PC and try to do what I can in my area--I'll be canvassing for petitions for school board, spreading my heretical ideas of public schools in general (yes, I'd like to abolish public schools, but it's there, and if it's there, I'd like a say) for the spring election--impactful locally, but certainly nothing compared to what Bill and all of you have already accomplished this year. I don't perform poorly at any job I do. That I am in this role is deeply disturbing to me and unfair to all of you. Thanks for all of the help along the way, especially Donny and Steve. I'll still be around, but certainly not as much. I'll reach-out to the campaigns to help with anything I can in bucolic Grundy county.
