To all, Stripe has put our account with them on hold pending an investigation that we are a prohibited business. They updated their terms of service in April and have inquired about our products and services we sell through Stripe (none but we accept donations) and explain our marketing. I looked at their restricted business list and at the very bottom they have included businesses that accept donations. This is from https://stripe.com/legal/restricted-businesses I don't know if this is a new "clarification" to their terms of service, a reaction to the election craziness or a new hire at Stripe attempting to label us as something illegitimate. We do file with the FEC and only to accept donations from US citizens in the United States. I also highlighted that Libertarians are against the use of force and violence. I will keep you updated as the investigation progresses. Stripe is very adamant that they will not process funds for violent organizations or ones that promote violence. We could reopen the Paypal account or open one at Raise the Money for donations should our Stripe account be shut down. We would need to coordinate that with the IT team should that occur. Both of these services are significantly more expensive than Stripe but handle political donations.
