All, Apologies for my absence from the meeting tonight. I had a prior engagement as I was on the public comment list for tonight’s school board meeting in Nokomis about the district’s Return to Learn Plan, specifically in opposition of the mask mandate clause within the plan. There is not much to report in the Political Division, as very little has changed since the last report. Of our potential statewide candidates, Scott Schluter has been working his way around the state as he vies for our nomination for governor. Of the other statewide candidates seeking nominations, some are awaiting information from the Illinois State Board of Elections RE: the 2022 Candidate Guide. But as we all know, that is not likely to be release anything earlier than January 2022. If they decide not to vie for the nomination at convention and no one earns the nomination off the floor, this Board will have to vote to approve a nomination in vacancy in hopes to attain a full slate, although it is no longer a requirement. In other developments: While there was intent to hold a more localized picnic for those in South Central Illinois, those plans have been scrapped for 2021 as of this evening. The venue was to be at the Chautauqua Auditorium at Manners Park in Taylorville, but the lack of timely response from the Taylorville Park District has resulted in Tri-Counties Libertarian Party scrapping plans for this year. I will be working on planning the South Central Illinois Picnic to take place next June at a venue I have had experience in booking in 2018: the Dam West Large Group Shelter @ Lake Shelbyville in Shelbyville (Shelby County).
