Subject: [LPGa Executive Committee] URGENT - Please vote tonight on support for election rule changes
Hey Team,
We've got another opportunity to help with election reform brought to us again by the Coalition for Good Governance. Essentially, we'd be making a request to the Georgia Secretary of State as an "interested party" to change how elections are run. I've attached the detailed requests, but also wanted to give a rundown here.
In order to be a formal petitioner we need to do prepare an affidavit and write a cover letter that includes your parties' interest in the matter, then send package to the SOS. We'd like to get the package sent tomorrow at the latest so need to move QUICKLY.
As such, Smythe DuVal is making a motion to support these rule changes and send out the necessary documents to the Secretary of State to petition for their inclusion. Ryan Graham is seconding this and we can go ahead and vote. PLEASE VOTE TONIGHT if you can.
Let me know if you have any questions. This is a great opportunity for us. The Coalition for Good Governance seems to think we'd be the biggest org to sign on if we do, which could be leveraged for some good press.
