Do whatever you wish
Not going after sitting politicians who are hypocrites on a major
issue that the LP should grab hold of is beyond me
I'm with Christine on this one. We should not pass or publicize this as-written. But I know it can be tough to separate/critically edit one's own work. @AB if you'd like, I can reduce and streamline this into something more suitable for the committee to review.

I disagree. We are supposed to be a part of principles. Our principles should not depend on what somebody else did or did not do. They should stand alone. And my comment was just one example of something that could be cut to make this more concise.
I can’t support putting something like this out for public consumption because it takes to long to get to the point. I supported in concepts, but this is not something I would want to present to the public. We already have very little chance that anybody will read anything we put out this has even less of a chance of being read.
So I think you need to decide what the point of the resolution is. If you want to go after hypocrites then go after hypocrites. But if you want to show support for the Financial Sanity Act, then focus on that.

Not to be mean, but no
See attached and below for reasoning; my letter was the first thing done - on 7/31
The LP has to go after hypocrites with respect to the financial issues; it's the main "in" at the federal level - I can prove if necessary
Perdue ran on the financial issues; he has voted opposite to what he campaigned on, largely to keep Trump and the GA Trump lovers happy
Sequestration would have meant spending cuts
The more things that we can do to help whoever goes up against Perdue in 2020, the better

Alan can you make this resolution more succinct by eliminating some of the irrelevant whereas statements. For example, who cares what David Purdue has or has not done. Our statement on the issue should not be predicated on his actions. I think this would be a much stronger statement if we can make it more concise.

Hey Team,
Just wanted to send along a couple of things prior to our meeting next Monday at 7PM:
- Agenda: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Z5xr2ko-ORp_epGgIvSyZRJ-7ZZlrcYpKFf4mt0eEXM/edit?usp=sharing
- Please review the following resolution being put forward by Allen Buckley. It addresses our support for getting the federal budget under control, by targeting a program that is one of the worst offenders. Please be prepared to discuss on the call and potentially vote. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1jsNyvWNh21yUEGxv3-vxciRf55n_nefCjOrdQ_-QCyw/edit?usp=sharing
- Not meeting related, but Atlanta PRIDE is THIS WEEKEND! If you'd like to help out with tabling and/or the parade, let us know. You can respond to this email with any questions. Tabling is all day Saturday and Sunday and the signup is here if you'd like to let us know when you'll be there. We will be meeting near the Civic Center MARTA station on Sunday morning at 9:30 to start preparing for the parade. Doug Craig is donating the use of his flatbed truck.
