I request ten minutes on the agenda for a motion to add a new member orientation to the Policy Manual. Add to Policy Manual Section 3.06: 4) Orientation Before the second LNC meeting after a convention, staff shall provide an orientation to new LNC members that includes providing and explaining the current budget, staff marketing plan, staff fundraising plan, policy manual, committee information, and other relevant documents. -- Tim Hagan Treasurer, Libertarian National Committee
I am seeking co-sponsors for the motion below adding an orientation to the Policy Manual. At the suggestion of a former LNC member, I added fiduciary duties to the items to be covered. If you remember back to your bewilderment at your first LNC meeting or two, you will see the usefulness for an orientation for new members. Not knowing who would get re-elected to the LNC, the motion has staff responsible for the orientation. While the meeting at the close of the convention would be an optimal time to have the orientation, the LNC is usually rushed for time at this meeting, so the motion has it being done before the next meeting. This gives the flexibility of an orientation being conducted at the meeting at the end of the convention, electronically before the next meeting, or even immediately before the call to order of the next meeting. Add to Policy Manual Section 3.06: 4) Orientation Before the second LNC meeting after a convention, staff shall provide an orientation to new LNC members that includes providing and explaining the current budget, staff marketing plan, staff fundraising plan, policy manual, committee information, fiduciary duties, and other relevant documents. --- Tim Hagan Treasurer, Libertarian National Committee
I’ll co-sponsor Alex Merced Vice Chair of the Libertarian National Committee/LP

I will co-sponsor. Having an orientation for new LNC members is something I talked about after I first was appointed to the LNC. (early 2018) As there were many things not shown or told to me. Things I discovered by accident, or after time. I had suggested back then that there needs to be some on-boarding type process in place for new LNC members. Also, Tim Hagan, thank you! --- Elizabeth Van Horn LNC Region 3 (IN, MI, OH, KY) Chair-Libertarian Party of Madison Co, Indiana Vice-Chair Libertarian Pragmatist Caucus http://www.lpcaucus.org/ On 2019-07-30 09:38, Tim Hagan via Lnc-business wrote:

I will also Co-sponsor.
I know this would have been extremely helpful for me.
I would add "help setting up and using the email system" as well, but I would be in favor with or without.
