Attached is a new version of the Policy Manual updated 8/1/18 incorporating the changes passed via email ballot 2018-18. Staff, please post to the website. Note: I had alerted Ms. Mattson to a formatting error in the prior version on page 23 (a mistaken hard return after "racial or sexual" and before "epithets") - in double-checking the manual, I see this was not corrected so I took care of that as well. -- In Liberty, Caryn Ann Harlos Libertarian Party and Libertarian National Committee Secretary - Caryn.Ann. Harlos@LP.org or Secretary@LP.org. Chair, LP Historical Preservation Committee - LPedia@LP.org A haiku to the Statement of Principles: We defend your rights And oppose the use of force Taxation is theft
In the updated version of the Policy Manual, the footers need to be updated, as they still show the June 30 date. On page 61, the new entry in the "Log of Changes" shows the change date as August 31, 2018, which is still a future date. The email ballot adopting the change ended on July 27, 2018. -Alicia On Tue, Jul 31, 2018 at 8:46 AM, Caryn Ann Harlos via Lnc-business < lnc-business@hq.lp.org> wrote:

Thank you for pointing out the footer - will take care of that and the month. On Thu, Aug 2, 2018 at 1:27 AM Alicia Mattson via Lnc-business < lnc-business@hq.lp.org> wrote:

Alicia I have a question - I am surmising from your email then that these dates should be the dates the changes went into effect rather than the date the changes were actually made to the document? That makes sense though it seems that an actual revision date should be noted. I am going to add that to make sure it is clear. Using the actual date the amendment was approved makes it possible for a reader to easily find the details of the change in the LNC minutes. There was either an LNC meeting on that date, or it was an email ballot, in which case it shows up in the minutes of the subsequent LNC meeting. My practice was to also use the last-amended date for the document's title page, though it's not unreasonable to alternatively use the publication date. -Alicia On Thu, Aug 2, 2018 at 12:39 AM, Caryn Ann Harlos <caryn.ann.harlos@lp.org> wrote:

Got it - makes sense. I added a revision date in the footer so that there is no ambiguity. I wonder if it might be helpful to start including the email ballot number or motion reference number as well. -Caryn Ann On Thu, Aug 2, 2018 at 2:10 AM Alicia Mattson via Lnc-business < lnc-business@hq.lp.org> wrote:
