Appreciation to Chairman Sarwark
Nick, Thank you very much for serving as convention chair for most of the LP of Louisiana's 2016 state convention business. As you know, the tensions were high, but your availability enabled the body to accomplish our critical business. Your calm voice of reason & leadership, in my opinion, was essential in helping to avoid a major train-wreck in the LP of Louisiana. It has been an honor to serve on the LNC under your administration. For the record, IMO, you score a "10" in the leadership category. Good lord! Is this another case of the LNC butting into the affairs of a state party? Louisiana is the new Oregon! We anticipate a great LPIN Convention this weekend with 109 preregistered and probably a few more stragglers at the door. We have multiple contested races from Governor to Congress and, although there will be winner and losers, most likely no blood will be shed. Sam, No … there were two persons designated as persons able to call the LPL state convention to order – former Chair Scott Lewis, and myself … former VC. Both Mr. Lewis & I embraced Nick’s availability, and that started a groundswell of “common ground” feelings. Truly, Louisiana had a VERY strong potential to really become the new “Oregon” [no disrespect intended to the good Libertarians in Oregon], but IMO … Chairman Sarwark’s leadership helped to avoid a train-wreck. At a minimum, the effect of Nick’s being convention chair is that we accomplished our agenda within the designated schedule, and without any serious personal fights. Again, Nick was invited to Chair the state convention by both Lewis & myself. Dear Guy, Thank you very much for the kind words and thank you to yourself and all of the Libertarian Party of Louisiana members who were so gracious and hospitable. I look forward to great things from the Louisiana affiliate moving forward. Yours in liberty, Nick On Fri, Apr 22, 2016 at 7:50 AM, Guy McLendon <guy@mclendon.net> wrote:
