I have a serious problem with using the LP twitter for personal twitter arguments. Please keep it to your personal twitter accounts. Party media assets should not be used to engage in whatever chips people have on their shoulders. I don’t care what people do on their personal social media accounts but a National Party’s social media should not be seen making meaningless potshots but instead focus on policy, party matters and the National discussions in away that is not inside baseball. This does seriously bother me, it’s a misuse of assets we’ve been entrusted to use responsibly. Alex Merced Vice Chair of the Libertarian National Committee/LP

Alex your post was fine. Members want concerns brought forward and not hush hush. I have been fielding a bunch of questions about this fake account and letting people know. However I also just got off the phone with a member who asked me to communicate to the chair to ask him to stop using his personal account (while he is chair) to continue to attack other libertarians and cause fights. This member said it is harming and demoralizing their state's campaign team for our ticket. I hope our chair hears this and takes it to heart. *In Liberty,* * Personal Note: I have what is commonly known as Asperger's Syndrome (part of the autism spectrum). This can affect inter-personal communication skills in both personal and electronic arenas. If anyone found anything offensive or overly off-putting (or some other social faux pas), please contact me privately and let me know. * On Sat, Jun 6, 2020 at 3:02 PM Elizabeth Van Horn via Lnc-business < lnc-business@hq.lp.org> wrote:

To be clear, the member referred to Mr. Sarwark's twitter account. The FB PR campaign with threats to other members is not better, but the member call was not about that but about twitter. I am not on twitter so haven't experienced it. *In Liberty,* * Personal Note: I have what is commonly known as Asperger's Syndrome (part of the autism spectrum). Dear Mr. Merced, It's a fake account and has been reported. The final character is an uppercase “i” so it looks the same, but it lacks our verification checkmark. As an aside, you could have contacted the Executive Director about this directly, but you chose to make this a post to the public list instead. There are some discourteous members of our board that make a habit of putting questions to individuals on a public list that receives hundreds of messages (often from the same person) per day, rather than using a direct email or phone call to ask their question. You don't do that generally, but I'm disappointed that you did it this time. People on this board should know how to ask other members and staff direct questions without making demands on the time and attention of every other board member. That was such a subtle difference that I was looking for it and still couldn't see it until the uppercase "i" was mentioned. When fake accounts like this are reported, do we ever find out from Twitter details that would indicate who was impersonating the party? Maybe the IP address on those posts match the IP address from another account? If, for example, the person impersonating the party were an LNC member, maybe we'd wanna know that. -Alicia On Sat, Jun 6, 2020 at 1:49 PM Nicholas Sarwark via Lnc-business < lnc-business@hq.lp.org> wrote:

I agree with Alex's assessment. Was this posted by a staffer? If so, we may need to discuss off-list. By an LNC member? That's fair game for this list. -Alicia On Sat, Jun 6, 2020 at 1:24 PM Alex Merced (LNC Vice Chair) via Lnc-business <lnc-business@hq.lp.org> wrote:
