Dear LNC, As a followup to my note about AV services at Orlando over the weekend, the COC did get a bid from the hotel's in-house provider today. PSAV's total bid, not counting the earlier ones for electrical work and unnecessary rigging, is for $223,707. That is about $148,707 more than the bid from AVG for the same equipment and personnel. With that information in hand I would hope that the Chair signs the AVG contract today so we can get on with other important business. From past experience, we all knew this would be the case so all that has happened is a colossal waste of time and risk of losing our vendor making the convention too expensive to continue. My cynical side thinks this was the goal.
Oliver has approved. There is no reason for this not to be signed within minutes of our chair seeing Mr Goldstein’s request. I do hope we will not have to all waste our time in a meeting this weekend to force the issue. On Mon, Jun 15, 2020 at 11:08 AM Sam Goldstein via Lnc-business < lnc-business@hq.lp.org> wrote:

Rather than letting another day pass without this being addressed, I suggest that the Secretary go ahead and schedule a zoom meeting for Saturday evening (we can call one in 5 days now) so we can put the link together with the other details needed to call an electronic meeting. Let's go ahead and get our meeting sponsors TODAY and be ready to go in the event that we need this backup option. (The Bylaws committee meets from 3-6pm Eastern on Saturday, so we need to avoid that time conflict.) The stalling can continue indefinitely otherwise. If the contract gets signed before then, great! If not, we are prepared. -Alicia On Mon, Jun 15, 2020 at 11:56 AM Caryn Ann Harlos via Lnc-business < lnc-business@hq.lp.org> wrote:

I will join the call for a electronic meeting of the LNC on Saturday, June 20, 2020 beginning at 7pm Eastern Time for the purpose of authorizing a LNC officer other than the Chair to sign the contract with the AV Group that has been approved by both the COC and Oliver Hall, Special Counsel to the LNC. If the Chair signs this contract or authorizes a staff member to sign in his place prior to the established meeting date and time then this call for a meeting becomes moot. I will join in this call, as well. On Mon, Jun 15, 2020 at 5:07 PM Sam Goldstein via Conventions < conventions@hq.lp.org> wrote:
