I could not find a Regional Map anywhere. Can't imagine why we wouldn't have one. Apologies if we do. Here's one for anyone who has ever looked for this and couldn't find it. -Kevin -- ======================================================== Kevin Ludlow 512-773-3968 http://www.kevinludlow.com
One concern that I have that this brings to light is that in this term there are only 8 regions represented on the LNC. A casual reading of the bylaws suggests that the intent was for there to be nine regions as there are nine other positions elected “at-large”. Thus, our membership has one less representative on this committee than it should have. If anyone else shares this concern, please contact me. Norm, I can't say I really have any concerns about it (to directly answer your question), but is there anything in particular you are interested in pursuing as a result of it. Also, I made the map from the data that was available on lp.org. If anybody is aware of any obvious mistakes, please do let me know. I'd hate for any kind of discussion to exist simply because the data is incorrect. Thanks much. Kevin On Thu, Jan 28, 2016 at 5:21 PM, Norm Olsen <region1rep@donedad.com> wrote:

Hello Kevin . . . My reading of the bylaws tells me that the designers had a specific goal in mind. That is, that there would be nine at-large members of the LNC (four officers and five at-large representatives) and nine Regional Representatives selected by the membership. And, that the whole concept of Regions and Regional Representatives was invented to add diversity to the committee and avoid complete concentrating control in a small group of people. Having only eight regions, I believe, is short changing the membership. My e-mail was a “test of the waters” to see if anyone else shared that concern. That is, if there were some others that shared this concern, perhaps we could discuss possible courses of action. Since it appears that I am alone in this regard, I believe the issue is moot. The way I see it, the bylaws create a formula in which there can be up to a theoretical 10 at-large reps, but the formula also allows for the possibility of fewer. It would be highly unusual for each of 10 regions to have exactly 10% of the membership. If regions each accumulated 19.99% of the membership, and maybe one straggler state was outside a region, we could have as few as 5 region reps. There are usually 9 because the states tend to stop adding to their region once they cross the magic 10% number. This time, the distribution was lumpier and we only had 8 regions. I don't see that as a problem. It's just how the formula works. Sometimes an extra lump in a region becomes large enough that the region gets 2 reps instead of one, but there are zones in between those 10% increments. -Alicia On Sat, Feb 6, 2016 at 11:24 AM, Norm Olsen <region1rep@donedad.com> wrote:
