This proposal is running short on time for optimal impact.  Once again I see us detailing something to death.  In general on campus, this sort of a project works best towards the beginning of the semester.  I don't think the opportunity will be as great at another time. We have many Liberty leaning Republicans and Democrats that feel that they were Trumped and Burned.  If we can use this # maybe we can get it to trend a little

 I think that this does fall within the purview of the Affiliate Support Committee.  This has interest by the NY affiliate to be used by 24 of its local affiliates.  It will help existing partisan organizations on campuses to help increase the number of registered Libertarians in their state.  I can speak unequivocally from personal experience that it has strengthened the La Affiliate.  I keeps the organization growing and quantifies that more people are identifying with libertarianism and the Libertarian Party.

I have checked with most of the members of the Affiliate Support Committee on this matter.  I have 2 more to speak with.  At this point I think that the ASC would be amenable to taking on this project.  We have been given $10,000 to assist affiliates.  We have a scheduled conference call next Thursday.  If we authorized half of the ASC budget to this project that would cover what Mr. Somes has proposed and leave cushion if other States come forward wishing to participate and cover extras if we decided to go that route to help promote it.  Authorizing more than we currently need means if we have more affiliates wish to come online with it we don't have to schedule a special call or wait for our next bi monthly meeting.

If the LNC votes on it, we will take about 2 days to get the vote up..10 days to get the vote complete and then that leaves little time for printing of any specialized materials such as banners. I think a subcommittee would be a better option  We are losing campuses to the Republicans and Democrats and to the nonpartisan organizations.  We need to take over the colleges for the Libertarians. This project could be the cornerstone to get that started.  Additionally, it can help state affiliates like NY greatly by increasing their Registered L count and moving them closer to full Party status in their state.

Unless there is overt objection, the ASC will be evaluating what Mr Somes has put forward here, working on tweaks and voting this next Thursday to get this up and running. As this is a relatively big project with a potentially large scope, we will be open to any outside help we can garner.

Before I would be willing to move ahead with this, though, I'd want to see a resolution to the question of who will run it.  I don't want to see staff trying to run this unless we explicitly think they should, but if we go ahead with it without an answer, it will fall on them.  Personally, I think we can make this happen with only minimal staff involvement, aside from the processing of items which staff already handles.  I had assumed that Trent would handle it, but if that is not the case, we need to figure that out.  I don't know that the ASC is the right venue - it doesn't strike me as affiliate support in the usual sense, and I'm not convinced that a committee is ideal for this at all, at least not a standing committee.  I think what we want is a few people willing and able to see it through, rather than an existing committee whose members didn't join for that purpose.

I'm a little confused on the JW groups - some are getting materials, and some aren't?  How does that breakdown look?

But attached is the breakdown of cost and provisions. If we are going to do this, we need to authorize action very quickly. I will also suggest that someone, or a committee, for example ASC, takes responsibility for the project going forward, as I start school in 1 week.
