Yes. Will the chair please stop interfering with the committee. It was old yesterday. Further the CoC chair answers now to the LNC as a whole. Please stop doing this without LNC approval. On Wed, Jun 10, 2020 at 10:21 AM erin.adams--- via Lnc-business < lnc-business@hq.lp.org> wrote:
I would like to add did the COC in the work that we have done leading up to the convention have provided the party with $70,000 in convention funds that I've already been spent doing other things. This is not the first time that this situation has been like this oh, not the first time that convention funds have cut the party afloat at least for a Time and yet this committee on the work we did it the last convention not only provided that extra Revenue but make sure that the convention paid for itself. There is no reason to believe did we are not considerate of budget constraints so please let us do the job that we were put in place to do

I m not going to say whether it is or isn't. Given the lack of information being shared, conclusions happen either way.
I will say that accusations of spreading misinformation and playing games go both ways. So I suggest being very careful about opening that can of worms and derailing this process and making it more ugly than it is already.
I do not object to bids being taken, but make sure we compare apples to apples as I know the current AV company had provisions in place for our states that may not be able to travel due to government. Can the in house AV provide that? Most cannot or will not.
I will also say that perhaps if we let the COC do the job they were already doing and just move on we would be better off. Yes being careful with money is important, but this constantly getting in the way, gamesmanship, and being pennywise and pound foolish is ridiculous and a disservice to our members.

I don't think it looks effort to derail, nor to any hypothetical purpose of not having a convention. I know you like to write that, as it's what you've spread all over FB, but I think you're purposefully spreading misinformation.

This is clearly an effort on the part of the Chair to derail the planning of the COC due to his stated purpose of not having an in person convention this year. I will be seeking sponsors once again to authorize another officer to sign the COC approved AV contract if the Chair does not sign it by the end of business tomororw.
The Chair does not run the COC nor give directive to us. That is the responsibility of the LNC>

This concerns me. The CoC already approved the other, and it is my understanding that this email here is how the rest of the CoC heard of this. Why are things being done without the rest of the CoC being consulted? This seems like interference that is slowing things down. It is too late to keep putting delays in this process. How long is this going to take? And the CoC has already worked with the current guy on remote connections that many delegates are demanding, and this seems to be sabotaging that.

Dear All,
Since some members of the LNC have been asking our special counsel privately about the status of contracts under review, I thought it best to provide the entire committee an update.
There is an A/V contract proposed by the Convention Oversight Committee that was negotiated before the site was finalized with the same company that was going to handle A/V in Austin.
Given the number of changes that have occurred between now and then, and given the commitment the Rosen Hotel Group has made to make our convention a success, I have asked BetteRose Ryan, Chair of the Convention Oversight Committee, to solicit a bid from the Rosen Group's in-house A/V provider.
Yours truly, Nick
