I would be in favor of that. That way we can knock out everything in gone go. In Liberty, Steven Nekhaila Region 2 Representative Libertarian National Committee Impotentes defendere libertatum non possunt "Those without power cannot defend freedom" On 2020-05-25 01:02 PM, Sam Goldstein wrote:
Steven,
We can just do that tonight if Mr. Hall is on the joint COC/LNC call.

I would suggest that the LNC meet with Oliver Hall, our legal council, under executive session in order to be briefed on any concerns and insights that we should be made aware. At that point, the body could consult with the CoC in a separate session, and then come to a conclusion on our next course of action. Once we have all of the information, from all sides, then we can make the best recommendations.

I change my vote to no.
This motion came quickly and after combing through and reviewing mountains of emails received throughout this weekend, I see the discrepancies noted by Mr O'Donnell. Further, I misunderstood this motion. I took it to read that any officer could sign when the time was appropriate, not to sign now.
While Nick has made it clear that he will not sign the contract to me based on his remarks and behavior at the e-convention, authorizing anybody to do so right now is a mistake until it is fully finalized and all concerns addressed. If that happens before this vote expires, I will change back to yes. I realize the convention was busy for many and encourage all on this body to read the relevant emails to gain a full understanding of where we stand. I don't think we are ready to sign yet.

At 4:17 PM sunday, Mr. Hayes sent us all an email admitting that this contract had not yet been reviewed. As the revisions had just been recieved, despite his insistance while speaking during the convention that it was rock solid and had been reviewed and cleared.
Mr. Goldstein has been posting on social media and on this list upset about the leak of confidential contract information, claiming its an issue because the contract is still being negotiated and we dont have a final version yet.
The contract that was provided to the LNC Via Email on Saturday morning was quickly followed by remarks from Mr. Hall, the LNC's retained council, advising of what was in his opinion an incredibly unfavorable contract with regards to riak assignment to the LNC given the circumstances.
I could be convinced to change my vote to yes, but not until the members of the CoC get on the same page and start spinning the same story consistently at least, rather than insisting the contract is fine and ready during public debate but admitting it hasnt been reviewed privately.
I will also wait until the contract is returned with a favorable review from our attorney, Mr. Hall.
On a side note, Region 8 will be holding an election for my replacement electronically next Week, I wish I could say it had been a pleasure to serve with everyone on this board, but unfortunately that would not be displaying the same level of honesty I'll asking of the CoC members. The last few months this board has been torn apart with childish factionalism and idiotic conflicts of personal natures. Many on this board could benefit from a re-reading of Non-Violent communication, and a realization that you dont need to be so quick to throw a noose over the branch at every percieved slight. I'm embarrased to have been part of this board the past few months, and I'm ashamed for the members of our party who have to explain our conduct.
Regards, Justin O'Donnell LNC Region 8 Representative
