This derives from the following bylaw: Article 7.2 1. The National Committee shall be composed of the following members: - the officers of the Party; - five members elected at large by the delegates at a Regular Convention; and - any additional members as specified below: Any affiliate party with 10% or more of the total national party sustaining membership within affiliate parties (as determined for delegate allocation) shall be entitled to one National Committee representative and one alternate for each 10% of national sustaining membership. Affiliate parties may, by mutual consent, band together to form "representative regions," and each such "region" with an aggregate national party sustaining membership of 10% or more shall be entitled to one National Committee representative and one alternate for each 10% of national party sustaining membership. *"Representative regions" may be formed or dissolved once every two years during a period beginning 90 days before the beginning of and ending on the second day of the National Convention, and notice of new formations or dissolutions must be given in writing to the national Secretary prior to the close of the Convention at which they take place. * I have o attached the Region formation manual that I previously provided. Further instructions are contained there. Further, attached is the paperwork filed by your state for this term’s region formation. The minimum document to be filed is found on the last page of the Region formation manual. However, it is a very good idea to execute a detailed agreement outlining the duties and responsibilities of your regional and alternate representatives including any removal provisions as the national bylaws devolve that entirely to the electing region. If you do execute such an agreement, please file that with me along with the Notice Region Formation. I realize that some of you may be, or may have already, elected to change regions. Also, *and this is VERY important, unless you intend to have your new representatives take office immediately after the close of the e-convention please indicate on your paperwork when they will take office. The rest of the LNC starts it new term at the close of the July in-person convention, and it would be usual for the regional representation to also change at that time. However, in the event that the pandemic situation causes that convention to be canceled, you may wish to consider something to the effect of: “The named representatives shall take office at the close of the July 2020 convention or the first day of August 2020, whichever comes first.”* If you have any questions or need any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me either by email or phone at 561.523.2250. * In Liberty,* * Personal Note: I have what is commonly known as Asperger's Syndrome (part of the autism spectrum).
