Dear All, I expect that members of the Libertarian National Committee will disagree with each other with respect. I expect that after the Libertarian National Committee comes to a decision on an issue, be it the purchase of an office or the choice to make a goal a certain number of candidates running for public office, that every member of the committee will either support the goal or at least stop trying to publicly fight against it after they've lost. I expect that every member of the Libertarian National Committee will be polite and respectful to the rest of the members and to the national office staff. If anyone is unwilling or unable to meet these expectations, I will happily accept your resignation from the Libertarian National Committee and wish you the best of luck in whatever future endeavors you choose. Wes, I didn't get the chance to give it to you at convention (way too crazy) so let me know how you want to handle transfer. I can bring to our next LNC meeting or have it shipped to you. I know the donor prefers it never be shipped but always transferred in the personal possession of someone (so in the flight, in your carryon). If that is troublesome, I can bring it if we have a DC meeting. I also have a button display to donate - that is pretty large and heavy. Is the LP going to issue an opinion on this? It is the perfect opportunity to affirm rights while showing that rights are not the end all and be all to a healthy society. A society of peaceful bigots - for instance - is a sick society. So is a society that paternalistically protects us all from "those unfit to speak". Discussions of Goals and Funding

Here are some thoughts I had I’d like share to Spur some brainstorming and discussion. 1. This particular idea is not a current priority but I wanted to put it out there because I think it should be an idea we toss around and evolve going into the December meeting. That being using 2019 to focus on identifying and training a volunteer “Field Coordinator” in each of the 50 states leading into 2020. I know we have staff and online resources for training although I think making an effort to train some of the best from each state but also training them to train others would be a good focus and goal in 2019. How should this be approached whether through the staff or by committee existing or new, or even combined with an effort that is already on going I hope we can discuss and develop. 2. As mentioned a few times, we’ve made some valuable investments but the result is a funding challenge I’m sure we can come up with ways to address. We’ve had a phenomenal year in membership and fundraising but along with those were phenomenal investments in tech, ballot access and more. So for Lauren and Jess, I am at your disposal in anyway that you think I can add value to your efforts. I’m glad to write letters, make calls, etc. I guess for all LNC members reply to this letter in the Afirmitive if you’d like to make yourself available for such assistance if the staff would find it helpful. (I’m sure many have or are already assisting in many valuable ways, but especially for the newer members it may be beneficial to staff to know who is ready to be called upon to assist) Alex Merced Vice Chair of the Libertarian National Committee/LP
