We have filed an amended Form 1, Statement of Organization, with the FEC to update the LNC's address to 1444 Duke Street, Alexandria, VA 22314. Ms. Edwards consulted with the FEC compliance consultant concerning the Audit Committee's recommendations for corrections to the reports to the FEC. These were for ultimate vendors not being correctly disclosed and payees not correctly identified. The corrections for 2011 and 2012 were submitted on a Form 99, Miscellaneous Report to FEC. Ms. Edwards amended the 2013 March, April, June, and September reports to correct the 2013 expenditures. This year's budget should be adjusted to reflect the reduced occupancy costs from purchasing the office space. In the budget, $122,000 was estimated for the Office Rent, Mortgage, Maintenance, Utilities, and Storage portion of Administrative Costs. The actual cost to date is $71,361. For the rest of the year, we estimate costs will be $29,366. In addition, due to the campaign that staff has been having selling t-shirts and hats, the totals for branding can be adjusted based on actual performance this year. At the LNC meeting, I will move to adjust the budget. Under Support and Revenue, change 26-Brand/Promotional Materials from $700 to $10,800. Under Program Expense, change 40-Adminstrative Costs from $342,300 to $321,100, and change 55-Brand Development from $2,800 to $6,600. Adjust the corresponding totals. Change Net Operating Surplus from ($24,400) to $3,100. These changes are reflected in the attachment. Tim Hagan Treasurer

Notice - LNC & staff attendance at the convention.

Dear LNC members, I want you to be aware that Wes Benedict will not be at the convention. His wife is in a difficult pregnancy, and has been in hospital under medical supervision for some time. His doctors have requested him to not be more than one hour away from the hospital at this time, and the situation is unlikely to resolve in time for the convention. I have told Wes to place his family first, and assured him that while he will be missed, we all understand, and will "keep calm and carry on". Please hold Wes and his family in your thoughts and prayers, whichever you choose. For your information, the only staff members who will be in attendance at the convention will be Carla Howell, Robert Kraus and Nick Dunbar. Dear colleagues: I hope all is well with you. I have enclosed below the draft minutes of the Executive Committee meeting that took place last night (Monday, Jan. 28). Please let me know whether you have any proposed changes. I have also enclosed below the language of the Policy Manual concerning approval of EC meeting minutes. Section 1.02.06 includes the following statement: Absent objection from an Executive Committee member who attended the meeting, the minutes shall be deemed to be approved 14 days after their distribution. Thus, if no such objection is raised as of 3:25 p.m. EST on Tuesday, Feb. 12, the draft minutes will become the official minutes of the meeting. As always, thanks for your work for liberty. EOM May Reports

The May end-of-month financial reports are attached. We are below the reserve requirement, but this is primarily due to the deferred convention revenue liability. The revenues and expenses for the convention will be posted in June. As long as the convention breaks even, we should be above the reserve requirement at the end of June. For May, we had a loss of $34,265 (bottom of page 10). This was driven by the seasonal nature of ballot access spending. We had $45,329 in ballot access expenses in May, which is 37.5% of the annual budget for ballot access. Tim Hagan

Hi Alicia, First of all, please accept my heartfelt thanks for the tremendous amount of work you have put into this. With regard to adoption of the agenda for the 3/1/2014 meeting you modified the minutes to state "The agenda as amended was adopted on a voice vote." but you struck out the "with Starchild voting against" portion at the end. That should be retained, since Starchild has been willing to forgo some time-consuming roll call votes based on the understanding that it was sufficient to identify in the minutes the one or two individuals who were either voting against or abstaining on otherwise unanimous votes.
