"Prior notice" motion - Delegate Compensation

Section 2.03, Paragraph 4 (Conventions) Replace: The Party shall not directly or indirectly compensate or otherwise underwrite or subsidize the convention travel, lodging, entertainment costs or speaker fees/honorariums of any Convention delegates. This policy shall not prohibit the Party from underwriting organized convention events offered to all donors of a particular level. This policy shall not prohibit a delegate from receiving a complimentary meal if the delegate is performing volunteer work specifically related to that meal event. With: The Party shall not directly or indirectly compensate or otherwise underwrite or subsidize the convention travel, lodging (excepting room upgrades), entertainment costs or speaker fees/honorariums of any Convention delegates. This policy shall not prohibit the Party from underwriting organized convention events offered to all donors of a particular level. Nor shall it prohibit delegates from receiving complementary meals or access to convention events in rough proportion to their level of volunteer work. All volunteer compensation must be approved by the Convention Oversight Committee, and contemporaneously published when actual compensation is received. Please accept this message as previous notice of the following motion I intend to move at the March 1, 2014 meeting. Motion: For the purpose of supporting the election of two Representatives to the Alaska Legislature at the 2014 general election and the retention of ballot access by Alaska by achieving 3% of the vote in the2014 gubernatorial election as outlined in the attached request, the following budgetary changes are made: . Budget line 7360-40 (Campaign-Candidate Support) is hereby increased to $20,000 . Budget line 4030-10 (Online Contributions - General) is hereby increased by $7,500 . Budget line 7380-10 (Ballot Access Petitioning Expense) is hereby reduced by $12,500 The Chair shall direct the Executive Director to disburse funds as so budgeted directly to the Alaska affiliate as indicated by the basic intent detailed in the attached campaign plan.
