Dear colleagues: I hope all is well with you. I have enclosed below the draft minutes of the Executive Committee meeting that took place last night (Monday, Jan. 28). Please let me know whether you have any proposed changes. I have also enclosed below the language of the Policy Manual concerning approval of EC meeting minutes. Section 1.02.06 includes the following statement: Absent objection from an Executive Committee member who attended the meeting, the minutes shall be deemed to be approved 14 days after their distribution. Thus, if no such objection is raised as of 3:25 p.m. EST on Tuesday, Feb. 12, the draft minutes will become the official minutes of the meeting. As always, thanks for your work for liberty. LNC meeting officially changing to Washington, DC vicinity

Helms-Briscoe has been unable to come up with any new viable options for Charlotte, NC. Therefore, I am changing the location of our next LNC meeting to the Washington, DC vicinity. We have several good options available, but I am asking Robert to defer notification of the specific hotel until we have a signed agreement. I don't feel like getting burned again. I am hopeful it will be today. We do have bids from more than a dozen hotels in DC, but I'm not about to guarantee anything at this point. The dates remain the same - March 1st & 2nd, 2014. Dear Chairman Neale: I hope all is well with you. I am writing to mention that as of 3:25 p.m. EST on Tuesday (Feb. 12), I did not receive any proposed changes to the draft minutes of the Executive Committee meeting on Jan. 28, 2013. Thus, according to the procedure specified in the Policy Manual (specifically, Section 1.02.06), those draft minutes now stand approved as the minutes of the meeting. I have enclosed the minutes below, as well as Section 1.02.06 of the Policy Manual; please note that I am sending a copy of this message to the LNC-Business list to provide our colleagues with a copy of the minutes. LNC Minutes, Dec. 14-15, 2013, Draft 4 Not Auto Approved

To the Libertarian National Committee, I have not prepared and I am not distributing an approved or "official" version of the minutes of the December 14 and 15, 2013, meeting of the LNC. A member of the LNC, Dianna Visek, objected on Saturday, January 11, to the fourth draft that I distributed on Sunday, January 5. Therefore, the minutes are not approved. Ms. Visek has authored and the chair, Geoffrey Neale, has sponsored a motion to cause an e-mail ballot to make nine more changes to the minutes, to force the secretary to produce a fifth draft, and to approve it. If this motion fails, then the normal procedure for approving the minutes, and the procedure that the LNC followed before the auto approval procedure was created, will be to simply place the item on the agenda of the next meeting. LP News online (less confusing wording)

LNC: I have directed Wes Benedict to make LP News available online as soon as possible. The results of the online poll are at http://www.lp.org/poll/how-do-you-feel-about-the-lag-between-when-a-printed- copy-of-lp-news-is-sent-to-dues-paying In short, 89.9% of the LP members who responded stated that they want it available as soon as possible. We had discussed this at a prior LNC meeting (I believe it was December of 2012), and I came away with the opinion that there was no consensus view on the LNC in this regard.
